What is GMO?
Genetically Modified Organisms (plants or animals) that are created using biotechnology. GMO materials are genetically engineered and cannot occur in nature.
What raw materials does Botanic Innovations use?
Fruit, vegetable and herb seeds.
Does Botanic Innovations use seeds that are GMO?
Botanic Innovations uses only seeds that are NON-GMO. BI does not use genetically modified materials.
What products are typically GMO?
According to the Non-GMO Project found at http://www.nongmoproject.org/, the following crops are considered “high-risk”: alfalfa, canola, corn, cotton, papaya, soy, sugar beets, zucchini. And according to the Non-GMO Project, the following crops are monitored, or suspected to be GMO: chard, table beets, rutabagas, brassica rapa, curbuita, flax and rice.
What products are thought to be GMO that likely are not?
According to the Non-GMO Project, the following crops are “low-risk” for GMO: tomatoes, potatoes, and wheat.
What additives does Botanic Innovations use?
The composition of Botanic Innovations NatureFRESH Cold-Press™ seed oils is 100% seed oil. At no time, were any additives introduced. Likewise, Botanic Innovations nutri-powders are defatted seed fiber and no additives are introduced.
How are Botanic Innovations products produced?
*NatureFRESH Cold Press™, the cold pressed process of Botanic Innovations LLC is the extrusion process used to extract the oil from the seed. This process is mechanical only, relying on pressure to “squeeze” the oil out of the seed. At no time are water or solvents of any kind used in this process.
What about common allergens like nuts and gluten?
The NatureFRESH cold-pressed seed oils and nutri-powders supplied by Botanic Innovations, LLC are not made from, do not come in contact with, and do not contain any allergenic substances. All materials produced by Botanic Innovations are gluten-free, dairy-free, nut-free.
Are your products vegan-friendly?
All Botanic Innovations ingredients are plant based. They do not contain, nor do they come in contact with, any animal materials.
I prefer to use only certified organic materials.
Botanic Innovations offers certified organic materials where possible, in addition to conventional materials. Our organic certification is from MOSA (Midwest Organic Services Association).
