The patent was developed in collaboration with WiSys Technology Foundation and recognizes innovative methods for identifying and isolating naturally occurring compounds found in fruit seed extracts. The patented technology focuses on compounds naturally present in cold-pressed fruit seed materials, including raspberry, blackberry, blueberry, pomegranate, cranberry, and other seed sources. Research described in the patent identified polyphenol-rich fractions, including ellagic acid and ellagitannins, and evaluated their interactions with tyrosinase, an enzyme involved in melanin production.
